An old, brick edifice stands in front of the burnt-down ruins of a home in the hillside. Mountains rear up in all directions, covered in lush, green vegetation. Nobody comes this way anymore, but you have the sense that anything placed in the mailbox attached to this old structure will be found by someone, the only living person for whom this place still has any meaning.

So he left a Snorlax bento that he bought from the Poketopia cafe with a note on the box with her name on it. IT'LL BE HERE IN THE FRIDGE. ]

Audio - The Next Day

[A message comes over the bracelet to Red the next day from Samantha. She sounds a little harsh-throated and groggy, but otherwise not in too surly a mood. She has learned a faint, but important lesson. It is now possible for her to have a hangover. Admittedly, it takes a lot of alcohol to do this, so she feels reasonably certain that this won't be happening again anytime soon.

Except, you know, drinking contests and how they test a half-demon's tolerance.]

Hey. Thanks for the lunch. The bear on the box is actually sort of cute. Do you mind if I keep the box?

No problem. [ Oh, so she got it. ]

I don't mind, it came with the purchase anyway.

Thank you, really. It is probably one of the more cheerful sights in this place, other than the red colors.

After as many years as I've been stuck seeing red in the mirror all the time? I get kind of used to it, honestly.

If you're talking about your hair color, it is nice. [ Though he doesn't really think that really justifies much.

No, don't judge because he wears red and his name is Red. ]

I kind of ... hate it sometimes. But I'm used to it by now. It's my eye color I really don't like. [It made her look like an albino, only with red hair.]

They're a hideous blood red. They remind me that I'm not all human.

[ There's some silence because he has never really expected anyone to really be anything different from human. They're either human or pokemon and really this is quite the change, but she still doesn't seem bad. ]

You don't want to be half demon, or anything demon kid. Remember that guy I told you about, Lucifer? I've got some of the same kind of blood as that guy. I hate being like that.

[Keep it vague Sam. You don't need to tell him everything. Still, this much he can figure out from the horns with a little help.]

I plan to. Look, either way, thanks for the lunch. I'll catch you around one way or another. I hear there's supposed to be some competition or something coming up in a bit. We'll probably run into each other somewhere around there... though you'd better not be doing this drinking contest. You're way too young, kiddo.
