An old, brick edifice stands in front of the burnt-down ruins of a home in the hillside. Mountains rear up in all directions, covered in lush, green vegetation. Nobody comes this way anymore, but you have the sense that anything placed in the mailbox attached to this old structure will be found by someone, the only living person for whom this place still has any meaning.

And here we go! (Video)
No... you're not an experiment, Eridan. You're MINE. No, when that happened... Eridan I hadn't even planned to kiss you. I was just pissed as hell at you because you were making a fucking fool of us. It was an accident...
It's just later that night, I thought about it. I couldn't believe something didn't happen.
And that night... I've been fucking drinking this god-awful swill of magical tea just to keep that part of me from coming out again! Do you have any idea how much I dread the idea of waking up with your damned entrails in my lap, covered in your blood?!? Do you think I want you to be just another statistic?
You're my damned kismesis you hack-brained, over-reacting fin for brains, and I don't even fucking know what that means! I'm not good at this! I kill people when I lose control... I'd given up trying, and I only thought of fucking Gamzee in the first place because I figured some murderer was the best I could get... and at least I knew what it was like to die before!
[Oh god, it was all spewing out like a barrage! She had to shut up! Her lips clamped and her hands gripped her mouth.]
Damnit Eridan...
(Video) 1 of 2
But it's the affirmation that she gives a damn about him that has him embarrassed and a bit ashamed for jumping to conclusions.]
I didn't knoww wwhat to think, Sam. I mean, fuck, it ain't like I'm any good at this shit either. An' you SAID it was a experiment, so howw wwas I supposed to knoww you didn't mean it like that.
An' far as murder goes, I--... culled people before. Trolls that didn't deservve it. That finless fuck, Sol, he deservved wworse than gettin' a little bump on the head, but Fef... evven if she wwasn't listenin' to goddamned reason, she didn't deservve to die.
So I guess wwe'vve both got our secrets.
(Video) 2 of 2
You'vve died before? Here? Wwhen?!
[He jerks his gaze up, glaring at the bracelet, a hint of worry in his furrowed eyebrows. His fangs are bared in a jealous sneer.]
One of those goddamn BULGESUCKIN' FUCKS of a human fucked wwith you?
I'll cull'em wwhere they stand.
no subject
We're in new ground for both of us. I'm glad to know you regretted Fef. It helps...
[She was going to say several other things before he went off the handle and her eyes bulged. There was color in her cheeks before she looked away. Ok, that was quite possibly the most embarrassing and slightly sweet thing he'd ever done for her.
Actually... it was sort of a surprise in general. Nobody had ever reacted like that when she said she'd died.]
Not here, Eridan. Nobody's really touched me here. I got in a fight the second time the other half of me came out, but they were careful not to kill me.
No... this was back home. I've died five times back home. Are you sure you want to hear about this? I'll tell you if you want to know.
no subject
He frowns quietly, showing amazing restraint as he nods.]
If you wwant to tell me, yeah. If you don't, I'm not goin' to fuckin' hold it against you. I told you, wwe both got secrets, an' as long as those secrets aren't goin' to end up fuckin' wwith this little thing wwe got, don't feel obligated to go spillin' all a' it at once.
[He's certainly not going to tell her about the matriorb unless someone literally holds a gun to his head and demands it.]
Not goin' to say I'm not goddamn curious though.
TW Warning to any viewing: Mentions of Death
Besides, he did need to understand that side of her.]
I'll tell you about one. It'll help you know why I'm trying to keep in control. It was with the first guy I ever had sex with. I was hiding out in a town when he and I ran into each other. The other side came out right about then. I caught him and tied him up so that we could 'play.'
[She sighed and shuddered.]
I had stronger potions in those days, ones my mom had made I took with when I fled. I... [Another pause and then she swallowed and nodded.] took a bench and fashioned a guillotine on it to latch him into so that we could have sex on it while his head was locked in.
...you do know what a guillotine is, don't you? You sure you want me to keep going?
no subject
...Yeah, I knoww wwhat one a' those is. Fuck, Sam, I--... fuck.
[He pushes a hand through his hair, mussing with the perfectly gelled strands.]
no subject
[She choked and ran her hands through her hair, coughing and unable to look at him directly.]
There's a simple spell I knew to preserve corpses. If you used it right, it trapped the soul for a few minutes. I used it to keep him trapped in his own skull so I could kiss him and make him watch me keep having fun with him before I jammed one of those potions in his mouth. It repaired the damage and brought him back.
...I came to myself about then. When I got him loose... let's just say he wasn't thinking straight at all.
He didn't use a potion.
You never want to get your head cut off, Eridan. It hurts like you would not believe, and it's true what they say. You're alive for a few seconds. It's hell.
no subject
She was a fuckin' psychopath, worse than Jack, worse than Gamzee. And Eridan might have fucked up, but he'd never even thought about hurting someone in that twisted of a way. ...But, she was just so pitiful in that moment, unsure and clearly just as upset and nauseous about the experience, probably even more so.
She had been a victim of her own bad choices and something uncontrollable in her nature, just like him, and his bloodpusher twists at the way she won't meet his gaze.]
... Sam.
[He sighs out a breath, resting his head in his hands as he tries to find something to say.]
Fuck, I don't knoww wwhat to say. I mean, God, wwhat do you wwant me to say here? This is--...
no subject
The tea... if it ever fails, and I turn on you, this won't work. I'm not sure if this isn't just a ridiculous idea in the first place.
no subject
Fuck off, Sam. You're not a goddamned monster. Let's get that straight. First a' all, I wwouldn't choose a fuckin' monster for my kismesis. You're my rivval, an' I wwouldn't deign myself to havve a monster as my equal in any fuckin' wway.
Besides, a monster? Wwouldn't havve told me wwhat you just did. They'd a' just kept leadin' me on.
You're not human, yeah, but wwho the fuck cares? I certainly don't givve a damn, and you shouldn't either. Besides, fuckin' humans can be just as ruthless, they just hide it better.

We return you to our normal insanity!
She wasn't sure if she wanted to hit him for this or kiss him.]
You... Fine, you're right! But if you're going to be my rival you damned well need to know what you're getting into, don't you? I don't want to hear anymore crap about cheating or being a sneaky ass, you got it?!?
[Her voice was cracking. It was forced. She didn't want to pull this schtick. Not now. She'd bared more than she ever intended to anyone, even if part of her did not want him to give up on her and run away like he really should have.]
So now you know, fin-face. Now we both know. You got any more little secrets you need to know so we don't have any other surprises?
no subject
Fine, then I don't wwant to hear any more a' this angst-ridden hoofbeast shit, got it?
[At her second question, he abruptly breaks eye contact, fiddling with his scarf with suddenly nervous hands. When he speaks, it's all a rush of mumbling that's practically unintelligible.]
Imighthavvedoomethefutureaourentirefuckinrace. It's not a big fuckin' deal.
no subject
It isn't the revelation. It's how you said it. After all that talk about angst-ridden hoofsbeat...]
Explain.
no subject
I--... it wwas after I snapped, alright? I killed Fef an' Kan.
[He shrugs, trying to play off the enormity of what he had actually done.]
An' I might havve blowwn up the matriorb. But our fuckin' session wwas doomed anywway! I don't understand wwhy those fuckin' simpletons are still angry wwith me.
[She's not getting any other explanation unless she presses for it.]
no subject
[She's pressing, mostly because she's confused a bit.]
no subject
[He huffs out a breath, steeling himself for the explanation.]
The matriorb wwas like a egg--for the mothergrub, wwho givves birth to the wwrigglers in Alternia. Wwe don't gestate our owwn young like I learned you freaks do. That's fuckin' primitivve.
no subject
You guys really are a bit like bugs then. One queen, but you have to ... no, it doesn't all synch up. And you think you killed the last of them?
Fine.
Species die. That's just how that goes. [Not even a beat skipped.]
no subject
I knoww I killed the last one. An' I fuckin' meant to do it.
no subject
I only care if someone I care about dies. What does the rest really matter? You killing Fef bothers me a hell of a lot more than you making it so there won't be more Trolls.
[Besides, it wasn't like they couldn't travel back in time, pick up some fragment of the shattered matriorb, clone it in or alchemize it and then put it in the clone-o-matic. Really, what did death matter in his warped little world...
not that she knew most of that.]
no subject
Yeah, wwell, you already knoww about that. So no fuckin' sense in goin' into it again.
Are wwe done wwith this little soul-barin' party a' yours?
no subject
We're bound to find something more later, but yeah. I think we're done for now. I'll see you around, Eridan.
no subject
[It's a promise. He'll be back on form the next time you talk to him.]
