An old, brick edifice stands in front of the burnt-down ruins of a home in the hillside. Mountains rear up in all directions, covered in lush, green vegetation. Nobody comes this way anymore, but you have the sense that anything placed in the mailbox attached to this old structure will be found by someone, the only living person for whom this place still has any meaning.

They're not sure, since there's been no precedent. They're looking into it, and if they need help with the experiments they'll let me know. This is about as far as I got with her, which is better than anything in the past.

[He makes a noise of disappointment.] That’s what Sigyn said, too. They think Freyr’s revival has something to do with it, but they don’t know if it’ll happen again.

I guess that’s a dead end of sorts, then.

Until we can figure out exactly how they're doing it, and if we can get the power to duplicat... Can it be duplicated, I wonder?

Sigyn didn't seem to think so, but if they're already looking into it, then there must be some chance of it happening again.

Maybe the increase in power is what we need to win the war.

It certainly couldn't hurt. Imagine the types of things that might be possible if someone from Heimdall could hit that level and boost someone else with some protection to keep from dying.

Yeah, and what healers could do without spreading themselves too thin.

That's only if we manage to figure it out, though. No use depending on something if we aren't sure it'll work at all.

Only thing I'm really planning to do is prepare, just in case the worst happens and 'she' gets access to that kind of power.

Yeah...I guess that would be something to worry about.

If we find out more about the power boost, we can get a better idea of how to block her from using it, hopefully.

I think, in general, if we can find out more about the nature of powers and magic in this world, we'll be a step further along towards doing more than just blocking her from powers.
