An old, brick edifice stands in front of the burnt-down ruins of a home in the hillside. Mountains rear up in all directions, covered in lush, green vegetation. Nobody comes this way anymore, but you have the sense that anything placed in the mailbox attached to this old structure will be found by someone, the only living person for whom this place still has any meaning.

I see. So we all get to play jury to this trial?

I'm pretty sure they're setting guilt. We choose the punishment, but close.

And how many people do you think will vote for death?

[samantha_grey]

I can't be sure. I think more than will want to save him, but I'm really not sure.

I mean, don't get me wrong, if the guy's guilty he deserves to be punished. I'm just iffy on the death penalty, especially if he didn't actually kill anyone or harm a child.

But I'm not going to protest it. It will be what it will be.

I'm not exactly in favor of it either, for my own reasons, but I don't think this is something we'll win. In the end, though, I'm not going to stick my neck out for Satan. I'm not that noble.
