What Sam Knows - Specific Questions
May. 23rd, 2015 08:56 pmAn overall list of some recent stuff she's acquired in knowledge. It's going to get edited and reformatted as time goes, and reflects IC plot-related info she has.
=========================================================================================
Sarah's a druggy and a bit of a hippy. There's drugs growing all over the damned place in her wing that she sneaks and harvests when she can.

Ok, here are the things that Samantha has been researching specifically. I am looking to verify what she herself is able to learn:
1) Anything about the magic involved in the potions the Maeve creates. The nature of it, its strength, how it is produced, possibly anything about why it might be more potent than her own stuff (particularly the Libido-Reducer)
2) What exactly is the 'spell' that is on the whole cast. She starts from the perspective of 'Geasa,' or sacred/cursed oaths. She will perform every investigative magic she knows, study the ways that things change when her libido potions turn off. Research differences during the brief periods when it 'turns off' because she's had sex. Anything that she can do to pin down information about the magic through the study of auras, based on her perspectives as a celtic druid.
3) During the period when Samantha was sneaking around and got in trouble because of sneaking into one of the storage rooms and getting tattled on, she will also test whether or not the spell which she uses to pass through solid walls works within the mansion. She does not aim for any 'known' rooms that are currently off-limits, but she tests to see if the spell itself works.
4) She tests her invisibility on the second floor. The creepy feeling of being watched. Does it go away when she is invisible?
5) She will be trying to look up any information she can get on Perdita and Sarah specifically starting in May: Via newsclippings, trying to speak with the servants, anything visible within her wing or special rooms. She doesn't attempt to break into her private quarters. However, she's trying to get a better feel for the sisters.
6) Sam will be producing a magical drug when she gets the chance, provided Sarah indicates she's interested in her doing it.

The reply was:
Subject: OKAY LET'S DO THIS
1. She would learn that most of the potions made are made with materials grown by Sarah, and to a lesser degree, Rachel, but the chemistry involved is Greta's work. Greta has an excellent reputation as an alchemist and potions master. However, she's one of the more secretive sisters, so Sam will have to really put effort into snooping around.
2. She'll be able to conclude that the magic used does have a similar "feel" to Geasa, but it is not quite the same thing. She can learn very little if she investigates the effects her own libido potions have, though she will be able to uncover that the Maeve are not lying when they say that there is a definite energy connection between themselves and their servants that increases with sexual activity.
3. The spell itself works. It will not get her into off-limits rooms, but she will be able to tell that this is because those rooms are enchanted that way, and not due to any failings in her own spell. Their magic is simply the stronger of the two.
4. The feeling does not go away.
5. Talking to Sarah and Perdita's players will give a better answer to this, but it is common knowledge that Perdita is a powerful master of physical arts and Sarah is well-travelled. Sarah in particular gets gossiped about a lot because she's so spacey. The servants don't like to enter her quarters because she usually has them do weird things that basically amount to odd traditions picked up elsewhere, like tea ceremony. She has a terrible time remembering names. The way they talk about her implies she does have periods of startling clarity, but is not currently in one.
