An old, brick edifice stands in front of the burnt-down ruins of a home in the hillside. Mountains rear up in all directions, covered in lush, green vegetation. Nobody comes this way anymore, but you have the sense that anything placed in the mailbox attached to this old structure will be found by someone, the only living person for whom this place still has any meaning.

Ugh, pass. Medium hot sauce's as far as I get.

mmm, maybe we'll just let you do the cooking if one of us ever cooks. That might be best. Let's just say I like Thai and Indian cooking for a reason.

If all you're using is the medium sauce, you're safe just keeping the garlic and onion salt away from me. I go crazy with garlic.

Garlic. [Repeating, slowly. Deadpan.] What are you trying to do? Kill someone?

Well, I'm sort of used to extremes. My body used to handle a lot worse than a little garlic. Spices, alcohol, poisons, heat, cold. I guess I'm just used to the taste of things that make other peoples' eyes water a little. Ramen's ok, though.

And this isn't bad... just a little bland. Pepperoni the best part.

Ever considered ripping your tongue out and replacing it? I think your life could improve tenfold.

Hehe, why don't you try making me something that isn't bland I could really sink my teeth into? We could call that a compromise.

And yeah, my taste's always had a debatable side, in a few ways.

If that something involves raw meat or burnt toast, I think I might kick you out of your own house. I've seen enough incubi "delicacies" [actual airquotes] for one year, thanks.

I'm not actually that depraved. I do like my meat rare, but not like that, thank you very much. [She took a sip and stuffed a slice into her mouth, opting not to mention the 'other half' on this one.]

Eh. I don't mind a little char, but I like to be able to taste my food, not ash. There's no point in that. All the spice in the world's no good if it's charcoal.

How about just toast with eggs. Maybe a little butter and plenty of pepper.

... no, no you really didn't. Do I dare ask? It's not like I've ever had a wyvern's eggs, after all.

One, no idea what a wyvern is. Two, I didn't want to know what kind of eggs they were-- but they were huge, rotten, and apparently delicious when slurped with a slice of freshly burnt toast.

[Well. Thinking about this seems to have zero effect on her appetite, since she goes ahead and bites down on a new slice of pizza.]

Think like a dragon, only smaller and kinda half bird instead of all lizard. nastier temper, more like an animal than an intelligent, thinking thing. Usually had a scorpion's tail too.

Nope. Passed it off to the nearest possible asshole while everyone else wasn't looking. Like hell I'm putting a rotten egg in my mouth.

Oh thank god. You had me going there for a minute. I seriously thought you'd actually done that. Honestly, I don't think I could ever put something like that in my mouth.

Ugh, no way. I almost barfed just from taking a whiff. Wouldn't stand near anyone who ate it for a whole hour, too.

Hey, gotta admit, there's worse things than a bit too much cayenne pepper in the world, don'tcha? [She gave her a look of smug self-satisfaction at that while she rolled a bit of pizza and took a big bite.]

... So, what do you usually cook, since we're talking food.

No, I think they're on the same level. [You can only classify things as "gross" and "delicious", man. There's no in between, dang it.

She chews a bit more slowly as she thinks about that, though.]

Some days, Eve, you are really straightforward about things in life. Actually that's pretty much always. If I promised not to bur your tongue off, would you let me try and cook for you one day?
