An old, brick edifice stands in front of the burnt-down ruins of a home in the hillside. Mountains rear up in all directions, covered in lush, green vegetation. Nobody comes this way anymore, but you have the sense that anything placed in the mailbox attached to this old structure will be found by someone, the only living person for whom this place still has any meaning.

Date: 2014-03-07 09:01 pm (UTC)Finally, around an hour later, the pirate leisurely strolls in. He's distracted momentarily by the cramped shelves of herbs and medicines, curiously investigating them, then works his way over to the counter.
A smile turns up the corners of his mouth. ] Miss Grey.
Re: action;
Date: 2014-03-08 03:53 am (UTC)Well now, if it isn't Captain Jack Sparrow. What can I do for you?
action;
Date: 2014-03-10 02:57 am (UTC)Cozy little place you have here. I like it.
[ Jack glances from side to side, as if he's taking stock of the place, then back to her. His voice lowers a notch. ] I found out something interesting the other day. I heard tell from a mostly reliable source that a certain someone was willing to purchase items acquired in a less than honest way.
Re: action;
Date: 2014-03-10 10:23 am (UTC)At the mention of other business, she glanced around and nodded.]
Did you now? That sort of business is usually out the backdoor, just so you know... but today I think I'll turn a blind eye. What is it?
action;
Date: 2014-03-11 02:40 am (UTC)[ He pulls out a small pouch, tugs it open, then flips it upside down. Metal and stone clatter against one another, then the goods spill out onto the counter top: a silver necklace with a fairly nice gem in the middle, a modern watch, and a couple of expensive diamond rings. ]
Perhaps they're not your fancy, in particular, but I can always find something that is. What do you think?
Re: action;
Date: 2014-03-11 07:30 am (UTC)Nothing here's contraband. Good. Avoid weapons dealing. Too much trouble to try and ship it out of the city. Jewelry's easy...
[She picked up the necklace with a gloved hand and nodded before writing a figure down. It was roughly, the going rate.]

Date: 2014-03-12 04:17 am (UTC)I never really was one for cheating a man -- or lady, as it stood -- out of their means to defend themselves. So aye, no weapons.
Will you take what's there?
no subject
Date: 2014-03-12 05:30 am (UTC)Yeah, I can take what you've got here. That's not a problem.

Date: 2014-03-13 02:10 am (UTC)I take it I'm probably going to be buying more of this sort of thing off of you in the future, eh?

Date: 2014-03-13 02:31 am (UTC)You'd be spot on, provided you want the business.

Date: 2014-03-14 06:04 am (UTC)[ No competition means more for him. He's totally fine with this. ]
What's the payment in, then? 'Runes'?

Date: 2014-03-14 06:22 pm (UTC)Hell, I don't make much of a profit on this, believe it or not. I do it more to keep my ears to the ground. I find the sewers are where you hear things faster than in the light of day.

Date: 2014-03-18 08:43 am (UTC)I'd wager that so. Nothing more informative than the scum of the earth, aye?
[ And he's glad to have an in, now. ]

Date: 2014-03-19 02:41 am (UTC)You need any potions or poisons while you're here?
no subject
Date: 2014-03-20 03:34 am (UTC)[ The question gets Jack to briefly glance around. He doesn't particularly need anything, but asks nonetheless. ]
What've you in stock?

Date: 2014-03-20 03:37 am (UTC)If you're looking to do more of this... acquisition, an egg you can toss to throw a short-term sleeping powder or a potion that can make you invisible for a few minutes come to mind. Just don't attack anyone if you've drunk the potion.

Date: 2014-03-20 05:06 am (UTC)How much would you want for it?
no subject
Date: 2014-03-20 06:35 pm (UTC)Those are five coppers. The potion's twenty-five. It's one of the pricier ones I make, but it's definitely potent. The eggs are cheap.

Date: 2014-03-22 10:19 pm (UTC)It's a tempting offer, surely. As this is the first bit o' coin I've seen since I've got here, still and all, I think I'll pass on it for now. I'll be sure to keep it in mind, nonetheless.
[ Carefully, slowly, Jack sets the egg back in place, then lifts a finger. ] With that all said, how's this: come and get drinks with me. [ Grin. ] I'll pay this time. [ Kill two birds with one stone -- get rum, repay his debt, have a little fun in the meanwhile. ]

[ Jack'll pick his way back through the cramped aisles of the shop, lingering outside by the door to wait for her to lock up. ]

Date: 2014-03-25 02:00 am (UTC)So, did you have a place in mind?
no subject
Date: 2014-03-25 02:34 am (UTC)Aye, a nice little nook of place down the block. Not too far.
