[samantha_grey]

An old, brick edifice stands in front of the burnt-down ruins of a home in the hillside. Mountains rear up in all directions, covered in lush, green vegetation. Nobody comes this way anymore, but you have the sense that anything placed in the mailbox attached to this old structure will be found by someone, the only living person for whom this place still has any meaning.

[Oh, this was a call she was dreading. She fidgeted when she heard Elizbeth's nerves. Swallowing, she hit the feed back and sighed to herself.]

Hi Elizabeth... yeah, I'm fine. I... guess... we probably should talk, shouldn't we?

[unchain]

Oh, thank goodness...! [there's immediate relief in her voice as soon as she hears Samantha again.]

I was so worried. I couldn't find you anywhere.

[samantha_grey]

Yeah... I didn't come back to life in the mirror world. I spent most of my time afterwards getting things back to working order. [She sighed again.] I'm... really sorry about that.

Please, god, don't tell me that wasn't your first.

[unchain]

I-I see. That's good then. [now it's Elizabeth's turn to fall victim to a brief awkward silence.]

It um - It was.

... seriously? That... Elizabeth... that is the worst possible first kiss I can imagine. Oh lord, that's horrible.

Sorry about that.

[...yeeeeah really not knowing what to say. it's a good thing she decided against using the video feed because boy is her face red.]

I-It's okay... [she thinks. it's really not how she wanted her first kiss but what's done is done.]

Honestly... I kind of think I need to make it up to you somehow for that. I mean, assuming you even want to see me again after all that.

[unchain]

Of course I do. [she's going to keep imagining you without a head if she doesn't anyway.]

And really, don't worry about.

Do you really think I'm going to be able to not worry about fixing this if I don't? [She sighed.] Oi... you ... I don't know... do you want to get something to...

...no, I really don't feel hungry, do you?

[there's not really anything Samantha could do to change what happened, unless that's what Elizabeth thinks anyway.]

Um, not especially, no. [she's had a loss of appetite since the whole... head exploding, sky hooking natives thing. she probably should eat but just thinking of eating makes her sick.

and really, she doesn't mean to make this as awkward as it is. she's just happy to hear Samantha's voice again.]

[Let's be honest. Picking skull fragments out of your hair never really made for good dinner conversation material.]

We need to relax... do you want to go to Folkvang? We could visit the sauna.

[Yes, because being partially naked with the girl you stole the first kiss from and then ruined by exploding in her face is a brilliant idea, Sam.]

A... sauna?

[sorry Sam, she's never heard of something like that.]

[samantha_grey]

[Directions to Folkvang in Freya come before Samantha actually replies.] I'll meet you there in an hour. If you have a bathing suit, you might as well bring it, but they do have towels.

[Someone 'might' be on a mission of trying to make her feel better. Mind you, it could go so awkwardly right now.]

[the sudden notification startles her & she squints to read before she replies.]

Oh! I see it now... [her head tilts but she guesses there's no harm in it. she doesn't have a bathing suit but she figures it'd be fine.] All right, I'll meet you soon!

[samantha_grey]

[What could possibly go wrong? Well, at the very least Samantha wasn't going to explode on her this time around, and she'd almost verified that she was safer to be around. So, it probably wouldn't be that bad.

Anyway, she was standing there, waiting quietly by the entrance to Folkvang about an hour later. The heat didn't bother her. A sauna's heat was a different sort of heat, after all. Besides, this would be perfect for timing. With a heat wave, a lot fewer would be coming.]

[Elizabeth tried to arrive on time but she was a tad bit late due to... well, getting sidetracked. she'd never been to this part of the city before so she had to make sure she looked at everything.

once she sees Samantha, she jogs up to her with a sheepish smile.]

I'm sorry if I made you wait. I got a little distracted.

[samantha_grey]

[She laughed at that and shook her head. No, it was good to see her, and especially to see her smiling right about now. It made up for any wait. She motioned for her to follow as she started into the comfort house.]

Don't worry about it. You seem to have a knack for finding things to distract you, don't you?

[unchain]

Yeah... it's a bit of a bad habit, I suppose.

[her hands fold behind her head as she follows Samantha into the building.] I've never been to one of these before. What is it like?

[samantha_grey]

Folkvang? They have a lot of things like a hot spring that are meant to help people relax. Massages, skin care. A lot of it's not really my style. I don't try to make myself look pretty most days, but the hot springs and sauna are nice.

[unchain]

Oh, I see.. [Elizabeth wastes no time in looking at everything around her as they walk.]

It sounds relaxing. Hehe, I should bring Booker here. [she can just imagine him sitting in a hot spring looking like his grumpy self with a gun nearby.] That might not be a bad idea, actually...

[samantha_grey]

Wait, Booker? Is he a friend from your world, the one who got you out? [She looked at her a little surprised.] I'd like to meet him one of these days, though... maybe we could not tell him I stole your first kiss. Guys can be kind of weird about those things.

[Especially when it kind of blew up in their faces. Literally.

She started back and opened a door into a changing room. Walking in, she collected a couple of large bath towels and looked over her shoulder at Elizabeth, biting her lip.]

Ummm, while we're getting into the towels for the sauna, could you... not look at me? I'm a little self conscious about the scars.

[unchain]

Yes, that's right. He's someone who could definitely use a place like this. [she can't imagine how tense his muscles must be. he might need three masseuses.] I would love to introduce you to him if you'd like!

[when they entered the changing room, Elizabeth looks around, taking it in before Sam speaks up.]

Oh... sure, that's okay. I'll go change on the other side.

[samantha_grey]

Yeah, I'd like that a lot. Thank you.

[She breathed a sigh of relief when Elizabeth agreed and started getting undressed. There was a bit of a rush to it, slipping out of clothes and into the long bath towel. Still, no matter how she tried, when Elizabeth ever got a look at the red-head's back there was something amiss.

It wasn't easily visible, but there were two jagged scars that framed her spine, running up just inside of her shoulder-blades. They looked like the top of the scars, and that they ran down and out of sight. Old, they nevertheless looked unpleasant.]

You about ready?

[Elizabeth tries her best not to look at Samantha like she promised. instead she changes, folding her clothes before wrapping the towel shyly around herself. she takes look at herself in the mirror, moving some stray hair from her face.]

Ah - yes, I'm ready! [out she comes to meet Sam with a smile.]

[samantha_grey]

[She smiled as Elizabeth came into view, keeping herself facing her so her back wasn't as easily seen. Opening the door for her, she led the way into the sauna.]

So the idea of a sauna is that it's really hot inside. [She offered her another towel and wrapped one around her own hair.] Keep that there to help keep your head from getting too hot. You sweat out some of the stress and let the heat get into your muscles. It's really good.

[Leave it to the demon to like saunas.]
